For almost 20 years’ Lucy has received national critical acclaim not only for her designs but for the high quality of her craftsmanship, customer service and aftercare.
Her unique process in using colourful HPL laminate marquetry is transferable across the spectrum of interior design, from individual pieces of furniture, kitchens and other interior surfaces.
Lucy is always keen to work with customers on bespoke pieces. Whether it’s fitted furniture for that awkward space transformed with some HPL marquetry doors/drawers, a new look to your kitchen, a favourite piece of furniture that you would love to be rejuvenated by the Lucy Turner finish, or maybe a specially sourced vintage piece customised to your specifications, please get in touch.
From an initial photograph or drawing Lucy transfers her concepts to a vector file in preparation for the laser cutter. Each piece of the design is individually cut and then inlaid to create a surface which is applied to the furniture. The process requires precision, attention to detail and skill. Her designs are exciting and varied and she is always searching for and open to fresh ideas. Experimenting with colour combinations is an integral part of her work.
Made in the UK, Lucy has always used Formica® Laminate for its enduring quality, toughness and beauty. She is keen to dispel the myth that laminate is plastic; the primary material used to create the laminate is sustainably sourced paper which is impregnated with resin and compressed together under a very high pressure and temperature. This process not only gives it the colour and surface aesthetic but results in a resistance to heat, staining and general wear and tear. The finished product has not only a beautiful and hand crafted surface but one which is totally and completely sealed, hardwearing and hygienic.
Sustainability and quality craftsmanship have always been the key focuses for Lucy’s business. As a designer she works very closely with her clients to shape and create work that is both personal to them and has longevity. She encourages potential clients to visit her Instagram page to see her extensive portfolio and is delighted to receive any enquiries and looks forward to collaborating and creating a memorable and meaningful piece of work.
